What is NPS?
The National Pension System is a voluntary, long-term retirement savings scheme designed to enable systematic savings during the subscriber's working life.
Tax Benefits
NPS offers tax benefits under Section 80CCD(1) within the overall ceiling of ₹1.5 lakh under Sec 80C and an additional deduction of ₹50,000 under Section 80CCD(1B).
Withdrawal Rules
At retirement (age 60), you must use at least 40% of the corpus to purchase an annuity. The remaining 60% is tax-free lump sum withdrawal.
